About

Good decisions start with good information.

Calculated Paths is a site about making big decisions with better information. Not perfect information (that doesn't exist) but enough to stop guessing and start reasoning.

A lot of what you'll find here started as something I built for myself. A way to think through a decision I was already facing, or a question I couldn't find a straight answer to anywhere else.

Most of these decisions have real math underneath them. But that math usually lives in a spreadsheet someone else made, or behind a “free” tool built by someone trying to sell you something. This site pairs the numbers with context: calculators alongside honest explanations of what the outputs mean and where they fall short.

The goal isn't to tell you what to do. It's to show you clearly enough that you can figure that out yourself.
